Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
I dont think im going to go turbo. Ill probably keep it N/A unless i come into some money. Still lots of mods to come but I want to keep my spending down so I can buy the Genesis Coupe when i sell this car. Although alot could happen in 3 years so we'll see if i get it set up or not.
Yeah its hard as hell to drive this thing in this city. Paint was done by Macco in edmonton. Didnt have the cash for a two-tone like i wanted so its just factory colour. Bumper will come off next weekend so I can drive it during winter. Switch back to stock. Gotta go instal my new short shifter in a few mins.

Lol im not saying its the best or anything I just really like the way it looks, love that its RWD, and its got good power and performance for its price.
Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
Hey, man Genesis is a nice car!!!
You looking at the v6 or the I4 turbo?
There is a new Subaru/Toyota sports car coming out too, check it out!

Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
Im lookin at the V6. Its alot faster than the I4. Ive seen that the I4 is considerably slower which I dont like.
Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
There's just sooooooooooooo much more out there that you'll have an easier time getting aftermarket parts for. Just make sure you test drive some other cars before you get a hyundai. ALOT MORE!! I was talking to a hyundai salesman this weekend and they are selling like hotcakes. And he did say they were impressive, But the guy was also impressed with the Evo 10 I drove, and it wasn't impressive. Just make sure you do the research.

Alright thanks for the input. And i like hyundai lol. parts for the Tiburon are super easy to get and there are tons of options. Im sure the Genesis will be alot easier as some time passes. But yes i will check out many other cars first.

Take a good look at the turbo 4 over the v6. It will probably be respond better to basic upgrades. ie intake, exhaust and intercooler

True, Turbo cars tend to have better aftermarkets also!!
Just because the engine is bigger doesn't mean its better!

Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
Haha no.. I know that little 2.0L engines can move around 800Awhp so...
But then again a 6.0L engine with the same boost would push over 1200hp haha but really now...
Unless you have to have over 700whp with drive-ability, you don't need large displacement.

Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
Man, I will come out and say it, ditch the Hyundai if you are buying something else. If you are keeping your existing car then oh well, but if switching out rides, swap it. Next thing you will have a big Amsoil decal on your door!! Cheers

Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
What I think everyone's trying to get across is if you know you are buying a new car soon, the genisis, mise well stop adding useless mod's and save up so you can actually have some performance in your new vehicle. It's pretty much exactily what im doing thow. I know im selling my car soon and buying a JDM MKIV, but im just stubborn, and couldnt resist ordering a bigger turbo setup.

Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
well they could be thinking that.. but i think they just also hate the hyundai lol. i dont care tho. it was cheap and its fun to drive. but yeah i agree that i need to stop puttin parts into it and save. but ps. i dont plan on selling it for like 2-3 years. this wasnt an immediate thing.
Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
Not hating, just saying that if you want performance you should look at something different is all. Your car now is all show and no go, it us just harder and more expensive with those cars is all we were saying, not hating.
Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
Yeah I can understand that. Unless I get a turbo which I dont got the cash for I cant really compete with the more powerful cars. So I basically just went for inexpensive power mods which make a nice difference just not alot. I like my car being exactly how I want it too look tho. Im going to slow down adding things into it tho. 2 more cheap performance mods and 1 exterior and im done.
Re: 2001 Tiburon SE
Dont let anyone tell you different. Always go for the big engine.
